PlayBrave X CULTC

PlayBrave X CULTC

PlayBrave is proud to sponsor the Cambridge University Lawn Tennis Club.  Since 2015 we've kitted out the Men's and Women's teams of CULTC in our classic performance tennis wear so they can devote their energy to their efforts on the court.  With an illustrious history like CULTC's it's easy to see why we wanted to be a part of their journey today.

The History of CULTC

The Cambridge University Lawn Tennis Club (otherwise known as CULTC), is one of the oldest lawn tennis clubs in the world, founded in 1881, seven years before the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA).  Although called a 'Club' it is actually the Lawn Tennis Association of the University of Cambridge, representing all the Colleges and the other institutions that are part of the University.

During the heyday of amateur tennis, Cambridge Blues won no less than 28 Wimbledon Championships in singles and doubles. Famous names include H. W. W. Wilberforce the first Chairman of the All England Club as well Anthony Wilding, C. R. D. Tuckey and H. W. (‘Bunny’) Austin who, with Tuckey, helped Fred Perry to win the Davis Cup for Great Britain in four successive years from 1933 to 1936.
